Mother's Day

I recently stumbled across a load of old photos on the family computer that I have been desperate to search through. Weirdly, I don't seem to find my baby pictures as embarrassing as most people (Though there are still a few I hope remain hidden!). Any way, since today is Mother's Day I thought I'd dig out a few of my mum and me over the years. Enjoy!

I mentioned briefly that I had a couple of other things I wanted to share with you and that's exactly what I want to do now - I guess you could call this part two!

First of all, on Valentine's day I had a lovely meal out with some friends at our local Italian restaurant, Foffano's Both the food and service was great and I would recommend it to anybody who happens to be in the area.
Valentine's Day

In the same week we also went to my college social. Nowadays, it's very rare that we all get to hang out together so to do it twice in one week was quite a luxury! A few of us are meeting for a pizza tonight and even though not everyone could make it, it'll be nice to catch up with some people that I haven't seen in far too long.

College 'Geek Party'
As I mentioned earlier, I have given up meat for lent which, surprisingly, hasn't been too bad! I think that might have more to do with mum's culinary skills than anything else however!

Last night was a talk on university at my college which has definitely made me realise just how close the real world is getting: scary stuff. I'm going to have to love you and leave you however in favour of Kantian ethics and sorting out my room.

Wish me luck,

A quick catch up before tea!

Well, well, well! I really have been slack on here! I could use up most of this post making excuses about how busy I’ve been but that’s not going to be very exciting. Instead, I’ll catch you up on everything that has happened in the last couple of weeks. I’ve just come back to college after a week off. Although the majority of that was spent either at work or attached to my laptop trying to stay on top of the mountains of homework I was given, it wasn’t all bad. On the Wednesday, a group of friends from college and I spent the day in Redcar. As I’m sure I’ve mentioned plenty of times, I LOVE the beach.  It was a lovely day, and yes, as per, I found myself in the sea! We probably looked a right state, wandering round the seaside dripping wet but that’s all part of the allure; even when its freezing cold, you have to go in the sea. It is a ritual.

Amongst all this, I even had time to sort out my room and I have to admit, I was surprised to discover just how much stuff I seem to have accumulated. Confession time: I’m a secret hoarder. Every time I try and de clutter it , I get rid of a couple of bags of stuff but there is still plenty left! This time I was shocked to find I have 41 unread books in my room. At the very least, I don’t think I’ll need to be buying any new ones for a while.

You may remember that while I was in Florida over the summer I really enjoyed Zumba and I have managed to finally find a class I like, that’s on at the right time and is close enough that I don’t have beg a lift from my parents. Although I have the worst sense of rhythm, I love it. I’ve even managed to get one of my best friends to come along with me and she agrees with me that even though it is hard work, it is definitely not boring and well worth the aches the next day.

And last but not least, exams. They start in May and I am scaaaaaaared. But I’ve stocked up on A3 paper and coloured pens and it is time to start about revising. And following my epiphany over the summer, I know it’s not going to be the end of the world if they don’t go quite to plan! There’s always resits if the results are that bad.

Smells like my vegetarian curry is ready (I gave up meat for Lent, but more on that next time) so I’ll see you all later! J
